51Shooting FeaturesA (Programmed auto)Use for automatic control of the exposure by thecamera.• Different combinations of shutter speed andaperture value can be selected withoutchanging the exposure by rotating the maincommand dial (“flexible program”). Whileflexible program is in effect, a flexible programmark (A) is displayed next to the mode indicator (A) in the upper left of themonitor.• To cancel flexible program, rotate the main command dial until the flexibleprogram mark (A) is no longer displayed, or press the AE-L/AF-L buttonwhile pressing the w1 button. Selecting another shooting mode, orturning off the camera, also cancels flexible program.B (Shutter-priority auto)Use to shoot fast moving subjects at a fast shutterspeed, or use to emphasize the movements of amoving subject at a slow shutter speed.• The shutter speed can be adjusted by rotatingthe main command dial.C (Aperture-priority auto)Use to bring subjects including both theforeground and background into focus or blurthe subject's background intentionally.• The aperture value can be adjusted by rotatingthe sub-command dial.D (Manual)Use to control the exposure according toshooting requirements.• When adjusting the aperture value or shutterspeed, the degree of deviation from theexposure value measured by the camera isdisplayed in the exposure indicator of themonitor.
