6 Installing and Replacing Other Components82 Nokia 105s Gateway Installation GuideReplacing the BatteryTo replace the battery, you need the following: The appropriate Nokia battery replacement kit for your gateway Physical access to the gateway A Phillips-head screwdriver A grounding wrist strap (Optional) Safety glassesWarningAn explosion might occur if the battery is incorrectly placed. Replace thebattery only with the same or equivalent type that the manufacturerrecommends. Dispose of used batteries according to the manufacturer’sinstructions.WarningMake certain to remove the power cord from the gateway before youproceed with any of the following steps. Failure to do so could causeelectric shock with burns or death resulting for the user.CautionMake certain that you are properly grounded when you handlecomponents internal to the gateway to protect against electrostaticdischarge damage to the gateway. Use the grounding strap includedin the battery replacement kit.To install the battery1. Use Network Voyager or the CLI to halt the gateway.To use Network Voyager to shut the gateway down, selectSystem > Configuration > Reboot or Shutdown > Halt.
