Text entryYou can use two methods forentering text and numbers: Standardmode and Predictive text mode.• Select Clear to backspace thecursor and delete a character.• Select and hold Clear tobackspace continuously anddelete characters.■ Standard modeStandard mode is the only way toenter text into the contacts list andto rename caller groups.Text (Abc)• Press a key once to insert the firstletter on the key, twice for thesecond letter, etc. If you pausebriefly, the last letter in thedisplay is accepted and yourdevice awaits the next entry.• Press 0 to enter a space, therebyaccepting a completed word.• Press 1 to insert a full stop intoyour message.• Press and hold * to display acomplete list of specialcharacters.• Press and hold # to bring up theEditor settings (Number mode,Dictionary on/Dictionary off,Writing language).Numbers (123)To switch to 123 mode from Abcmode, press and hold # at anymessage entry screen to bring up theEditor settings menu list of Numbermode, Dictionary on/Dictionary off,and Writing language. SelectNumber mode, and the device willreturn to the message entry screenand switch the ABC icon in the upperleft corner of the display to the 123icon (or back).Punctuation and specialcharactersWhile at any text entry screen, press *to display special characters (pressand hold * if predictive text is on).Press * again to cycle through allavailable characters. You cannavigate through the list of specialcharacters by using the joystick.Once a character is highlighted,select Use to insert the characterinto your message.
