ETH-LM isapplicable only to down MEPs and as per the recommendation transparent to MIPs.The following notes apply to Y.1731 LM tests:• Single-ended LM tests cannot be enabled on a MEP where Y1731 PM is notenabled.• Single-ended LM tests cannot be enabled on a MEP where Y1731 LM dot1ppriority is not enabled.• More than one single-ended LM tests cannot be enabled on a MEPsimultaneously.8.9 Y1731 proactive performance monitoringY1731 proactive performance monitoring feature monitors network operations usingfollowing OAM functions continuously:• Frame delay measurement (ETH-DM)• Synthetic loss measurement (ETH-SLM)• Frame loss measurement (ETH-LM)Y1731 performance monitoring will collect loss/delay over 96 previous 15min intervaland 7 previous day. It also maintains one current 15min interval and day record. Thiscollected history information can be queried by either the CLI or a managementsystem.8.9.1 Create Y1731 proactive sessionThe operator specifies the domain, association, mep and session id with createkeyword. The system will create an Y1731 PM session if there is no session alreadyavailable with provided key.The operator can specify the following parameters:• TypeThe operator can specify type of the Y1731 PM test which include none,singleended loss (LM),two way delay (DM) or two way slm (SLM). Default type will benone.• Mac-addressThe operator can specify the unicast peer MAC address for which Y1731PMsession need to be run. Default MAC address will be NULL.
