The MSS setting is the value that your system advertises, andyou can change the value to tune TCP performance by allowing your system to receive thelargest possible segments without their being fragmented.This MSS configuration is subject to the following: It is only applicable to TCP. It sets the TCP MSS for packets that this system generates (as well as packets it receives). Ifa remote terminating node advertises an MSS higher than the MSS configured on thissystem, this system will send packets that have the segment size configured with thisfeature. For example, if you set this value to 512 and a remote system advertises 1024, thissystem sends packets with a TCP segment size of 512. It is only relevant to Check Point security servers or similar products that require the Nokiaappliance to terminate the connection.
