Copyright © 2019 Nortek Security & Control LLC 31Update the GC3 Panel FirmwareAs 2GIG releases firmware updates for the GC3 Panel,download the update to a USB thumb drive and thenconnect it to the USB port on the GC3 Panel.To update the firmware:1. Download the latest firmware update fromdealer.2gig.com.2. Copy the firmware update to a USB thumb drive (notsupplied).Note: The USB thumb drive must be FAT/FAT32 formatted. The system will not read an NTFSformatted thumb drive.3. Remove the USB protector from the USB port onthe top of the GC3 Panel.GC3 Panel-—USB Protector4. Insert a thumb drive storing the desired firmwareversion into the USB port at the top of the GC3Panel.GC3 Panel—USB PortThe Firmware Update icon appears in the Status Iconsarea and the Firmware Update Available from USBDevice message appears.5. Tap Update.Firmware Update Available from USB DeviceNote: Firmware Update Available from USB Devicemessage appears for approximately 10 seconds.If you are not able to tap the Update button in themessage in that time, you can alternately tap theSystem Settings button or the Firmware Updatebutton in the system icons area. Then enter theMaster User Code, and then tap Firmware Updateto start the update process.The GC3 Panel turns BLACK and in a few moments,the Updating Firmware message appears.Important: During the update process, do NOTdisconnect the GC3 Panel from its power sourceand do NOT remove the USB thumb drive until theupdate is complete.When complete, the system restarts automatically and anew message appears in the system’s Inbox to notify usersthat the firmware update was successful.6. On the Home screen, tap the Inbox system icon.Then tap Messages.Inbox Messages - Update with Areas on Control Panel IllustrationOn the Messages screen, tap the GoControl FirmwareUpdate message.7. On the Messages screen, tap the GoControlFirmware Update message.
