118 Chapter 8 Backing up and restoring Norstar dataN0004999 01Restoring data with the Backup Restore toolIf you want to do an immediate restore of a backed up file, you can use the Backup Restore toolfound under the Run Tool heading.1 Decide which backup file you are going to restore:ï If you are restoring a backup file that was created by a scheduled backup, rename the fileas FNVRAM.new. Refer to Figure 60.Figure 60 Renaming a scheduled backup fileï If you are using a backup file that was created using the Backup Restore tool, you willneed to know the path to that file. The file is already called FNVRAM.new.2 Open ICSRT.3 If you are not in the correct database, find the database where the correct customer is located.4 Select the customer you want to connect to.5 Click on Run Tool, and select Backup Restore.The connect screen appears, with the connect information for that system.6 Click on Connect.After your computer connects to the Norstar System, the Backup and Restore screen appears.7 Click on the Restore tab. The screen shown in Figure 61appears.8 Click on the Get System ID / Business Name button to ensure that you are backing up thecorrect system.9 Click on the System programming check box to make it active. Note that the Restore Nowbutton becomes active.10 Click on Browse and navigate to the CustomerInfo database backup folder that contains thebackup file you want to restore.
