Inaddition to that, these limits also apply to the Building Blocks introduced inINM Broadband 4.1. In other words, all CORBA interfaces that are beingintroduced in this release of INM Broadband also have the increasedengineering limits (i.e. 10,000 NEs). Please refer to the "Integrated NetworkManagement Broadband Release 4.1 Engineering Considerations" section ofthis document for more information.Bump RequestINM Broadband Release 4.1 provides an enhancement to the reluctantpromotion feature introduced in INM 3.1. Bump request provides a means toreturn to the original INM server/client configuration after the INM system hasundergone a reluctant promotion to a controller which has all communicationports occupied.Previous to INM 4.1, a server would not be able to re-establish its directconnection to a controller after recovery from a Loss of Association where aclient had reluctantly promoted to occupy the last communications port on acontroller. The bump request is sent by a server which is attempting to re-connect(directly) to a busy controller. The bump request is sent to all INMs which aredirectly connected to the controller. The reluctant promotee client (connecteddirectly) will accept the bump request and drop its connection. The server willwait a short amount of time after sending the bump request and attempt toconnect directly to the controller. With a communications port now availableon the controller, the server can re-establish its direct connection to thecontroller. In the case of a non-successful attempt, the server will wait five (5)minutes and then resend the bump request to all INMs directly connected tothe controller. In the case of a successful attempt, the reluctant promotee clientwill reconnect indirectly to the controller, thus restoring the original serverclient relationship.
