AFP-3030 Programming Manual — P/N DOC-01-032:A 26/06/2015 105Intelligent Sensing Features Intelligent Sensing ApplicationsC.2.3 Self-Optimizing Pre-AlarmYou can set each detector, except FST-851/751 (Heat), for Self-Optimizing Pre-Alarm (PA=1). Inthis Self-Optimizing mode, the software measures the normal peak analog readings and sets thePre-Alarm level just above these normal peaks. This allows extremely sensitive Pre-Alarmcapability with reasonable protection against non-fire signals. The figure below shows a graphicalrepresentation of the Self-Optimizing Pre-Alarm level:Figure C.3 Self-optimizing Pre-Alarm LevelC.2.4 Detector SensitivityThe control panel provides nine Sensitivity Levels (Table C.2 on page 107) for alarm detection andpre-alarm as follows:• Alarm Sensitivity Levels You can select the sensitivity of a detector from 1-9 (1=highestsensitivity; 9=lowest sensitivity).• Pre-Alarm Sensitivity Levels You can select one of nine levels from 1 to 9 (0=noPre-Alarm, 1=self-optimizing, 2=highest sensitivity, 9=lowest sensitivity). You can setPre-Alarm operation to Action (latching) or Alert (non-latching) and to activate SpecialZones. For instructions on programming, refer to Appendix C.3, “Pre-Alarm”, on page 106.You can set the sensitivity levels as fixed or programmed for day and night operation.A sample sensitivity window for a laser detector:Figure C.4 Sample Sensitivity Levels for a FlashScan View Laser DetectorAwacs4a.cdrTime (days)Prealarm ThresholdAnalogReading6.4% Alarm Selection 94.8% Alarm Selection 83.2% Alarm Selection 71.6% Alarm Selection 60.65% Alarm Selection 50.33% Alarm Selection 40.16% Alarm Selection 30.10% Alarm Selection 20.07% Alarm Selection 14.8% Prealarm 93.2% Prealarm 82.3% Prealarm 71.6% Prealarm 60.65% Prealarm 50.33% Prealarm 40.16% Prealarm 30.07% Prealarm 2Self Adjust 16.4%6.7%4.8%3.2%2.3%1.6%0.7%0.3%0.16%SAMPLESENSITIVITYWINDOW, laser detectorOBSCURATION (% PER METRE)
