Chapter 642Answer Mode settings 6Ring Count 6The ring count sets the number of times themachine rings before it answers in Fax Onlyand Fax/Tel modes.If you have extension phones on the sameline as the machine or subscribe to thetelephone company’s Unique Ring service,keep the Ring Count setting of 4. (SeeOperation from extension telephones onpage 53 and Ext. Tel. Press OK.d Press Stop.NoteSelect 00 in c to have the machineanswer immediately.F/T Ring Time 6When somebody calls your machine, you andyour caller will hear the normal telephone ringsound. The number of rings is set by the ringcount setting.If the call is a fax, then your machine willreceive it; however, if it is a voice call themachine will sound the F/T ring (a fastdouble-ring) for the time you have set in theF/T ring time setting. If you hear the F/T ringit means that you have a voice caller on theline.Because the F/T ring is made by the machine,extension and external telephones will notring; however, you can still answer the call onany telephone.
