MaintenanceThis chapter explains how to replace consumables and maintenance units, clean the printer, and moveor transport the printer.●● Replacing Consumables and Maintenance UnitsThis section explains how to replace consumable items.WARNINGDo not throw the toner ortoner cartridge into the fire.Doing so may cause tonersplashes leading to burns.Do not keep the tonercartridge in places close tothe fire. It may catch thefire, which cause fire andburns.Do not vacuum spilled tonerpowder. If vacuuming, it maycause ignition due to thesparks from electric contacts.Toners spillage on the floorshould be wiped off by wetclothes.CAUTIONThere are high temperatureparts in the device. Donot touch the peripheryof the label "Caution HighTemperature", which maycause burns.Keep the toner cartridge outof reach of young children. Ifyoung children swallow tonerpowder, follow the doctor'sdirection immediately.If toner powder is inhaled,gargle with large amounts ofwater and move the personto the open area for fresh air.Follow the doctor's directionif necessary.If the toner powder sticks toyour skin like your hands,wash with soap.If the toner gets into theeyes, flush with plenty ofwater immediately. Followthe doctor's direction ifnecessary.If you swallow toner powder,take large amounts of waterto weaken the toner. Followthe doctor's direction ifnecessary.When handling a paperjam, or replacing the tonercartridge, make sure not toget your cloth and handsdirty. When toner powderstains on your cloth, washwith cold water. If you washwith hot water, the tonermay be soaked into thecloth; it may be difficult toclean.Do not disassemble the tonercartridge. Toner powder mayfly upward, and you mayinhale the toner powderor may get your cloth andhands dirty.Keep a used toner cartridgein a bag so that the tonerpowder can not fly upward.Note● Use only genuine Oki Data consumable items to ensure optimum quality.● Service for problems due to use of consumable items other than genuine OKI consumables will incur fees even in the warrantyperiod or the maintenance contract period.
