With an SD memory card inserted intothe unit, perform the following operation:1 PresstheTHUMBNAILbutton.• The thumbnail screen appears on the LCDmonitor.2 PresstheTHUMBNAILMENUbuttonandselectOPERATIONFORMATfromthethumbnailmenu.• Select “SD CARD” and press the SET button whenthe screen shown below appears.• Select “EXIT” if formatting is not required.3 Thefollowingscreenappears.UsethecursorbuttonsandtheSETbuttontoselectYES.• The SD memory card is formatted. NOTE• You can also use the menu option SD CARD FORMAT in theCARD FUNCTIONS screen to format SD memory cards.For details, refer to [Formatting, Writing and Reading an SDmemory card] (page 90).• Check that no important data remains on a card beforeformatting since data erased by formatting cannot berecovered.Setting the Thumbnail DisplayModeThe thumbnail display mode can be customized to suityour preferences.1 PresstheTHUMBNAILbutton.• The thumbnail screen appears on the LCDmonitor.2 PresstheTHUMBNAILMENUbuttonandselectTHUMBNAILSETUPfromthethumbnailmenu.• The following screen appears.INDICATOR:Select which indicators you want to show onthumbnails and which you want to hide.• ALL HIDE:ON: No indicators are displayed.OFF: Indication/No indication will be setdepending on the following menu.The factory settings are as follows.• MARKER:Switches the shot mark marker betweenindication and no indication (ON/OFF). Thefactory setting is ON (indication).• TEXT MEMO:Switches the text memo marker betweenindication and no indication (ON/OFF). Thefactory setting is ON (indication).• WIDE:Switches the wide marker between indicationand no indication (ON/OFF). The factorysetting is ON (indication).• PROXY:Switches the proxy marker betweenindication and no indication (ON/OFF). Thefactory setting is ON (indication).DATA DISPLAY:The time display field of the clip offers a choiceof Time Code (TC), User Bits (UB), ShootingTime (TIME), Shooting Date (DATE), ShootingDate and Time (DATE/TIME) or USER CLIPNAME. The factory setting is Time Code.
