364-2-3 Placing the Camera-recorder inSYNCHRO SCAN ModeTo place the camera-recorder in SYNCHRO SCAN mode, followthe steps below.1 Press the SHUTTER switch positioned at [ON] towards[SEL], to place the camera-recorder in SYNCHRO SCANmode.2 In SYNCHRO SCAN mode, the speed can be switchedseamlessly between 1/60.3 and 1/249.7 seconds, using theSYNCHRO SCAN ADJUSTMENT buttons (+/–). (Speedswitchover is enabled in 60i mode.)4-3 Selecting Recording Signals andRecording SystemThe AJ-SPX800P is capable of utilising user-selected recordingsignals and format.4-3-1 Selecting the Recording SignalsSignals to be recorded are selected through the menu optionsREC SIGNAL and CAMERA MODE. These options are found inthe screen, which is accessible from theSYSTEM SETTING page.Setting options and usageThe option REC SIGNAL is used to select signals to berecorded.CAM: Signals from the camera are recorded.VIDEO: Signals from the GENLOCK IN connector arerecorded.1394: Signals from the DVCPRO/DV connector arerecorded. (when the IEEE1394 interface board isattached).The option CAMERA MODE is used to specify the operationmode of the camera. (effective when the menu option RECSIGNAL is set to “CAM”).60i: AJ-SPX800P camera unit operates in 59.94i mode.30P: AJ-SPX800P camera unit operates in 29.97Pmode.24P: AJ-SPX800P camera unit operates in 23.98P, 2:3pull down.24PA: AJ-SPX800P camera unit operates in 23.98P,2:3:3:2 pull down.To operate the camera in 30P, 24P, or 24PA modes, the verticalresolution mode must be selected via the menu option V.RES(24/30P). (effective when the menu option REC SIGNAL is set to“CAM”).INTRLCE : Line-mixed, natural video is recorded. This optionis used to handle material that uses a standardinterlaced signal.PROG.: Non line-mixed, fully progressive, segmented-frame video is recorded.
