Fax564.3 Sending a fax usingthe phone bookBefore using this feature, store the desirednames and telephone numbers into the baseunit’s phone book (page 39).L Keep the front cover page open for buttonlocations.1 Adjust the width of the document guides to fitthe actual size of the document.2 Insert the document (up to 10 pages) FACEDOWN until a single beep is heard and theunit grasps the document.L If the document guides are not adjustedto fit the document, re-adjust them.3 If necessary, press {A} or {B} repeatedly toselect the desired resolution (page 54).4 Press {>}.5 Press {A} or {B} repeatedly to display thedesired item and press {FAX/START}.L An available line is automatically selectedand {LINE1} or {LINE2} will light. Tochange the line selection, see feature #38on page 81.Fax auto redialIf the line is busy or if there is no answer, the unitwill automatically redial the number 1 time.L To cancel redialing, press {STOP}.If your unit does not send a faxL Confirm that you have entered the numbercorrectly, and that the number is a faxnumber.L Confirm that the other party’s fax machine isanswering by turning ON the connecting tonefeature (feature #76 on page 83).4.4 BroadcasttransmissionBy storing the base unit’s phone book items(page 39) into the broadcast memory, you cansend the same document to multiple parties (upto 20). Your programmed items will remain in thebroadcast memory, allowing frequent re-use.L Keep the front cover page open for buttonlocations.4.4.1 Programming items intothe broadcast memory1 Press {MENU} repeatedly to display “PHONEBOOK SET”.2 Press {#}.3 Press {A} or {B} repeatedly to display thedesired item.4 Press {SET}.L The number in brackets indicates thenumber of registered items.L If you program the wrong item, press{STOP} to erase the item.L To program other items, repeat steps 3and 4 (up to 20 items).5 Press {SET}.Note:L Confirm the stored items by printing abroadcast programming list (page 113).4.4.2 Adding a new item into thebroadcast memoryAfter initial programming, you can add new items(up to a combined total of 20).1 Press {>}.2 Press {A} or {B} repeatedly to display“”.3 Press {MENU}.4 Press {*}.5 Press {A} or {B} repeatedly to display thedesired item.6 Press {SET}.L To add other items, repeat steps 5 and 6(up to 20 items).7 Press {STOP}.
