106VQT0T50sThe battery used in this unit is arechargeable lithium-ion battery. It issusceptible to humidity and temperatureand the effect increases the more thetemperature rises or falls. In cold areas,the full charge indication may not appearor the low battery indication may appearabout 5 minutes after starting use. Athigh temperatures, the protectionfunction may be triggered, making itimpossible to use the unit.Be sure to detach the battery after use.≥ If the battery is left inserted, a minuteamount of current continues to floweven if the unit’s power is off. Keepingthe unit in this state may result in overdischarge of the battery. The batterymay become unusable after it ischarged.Prepare spare batteries when goingout for recording.≥ In cold places such as a ski resort, theperiod during which you can recordpictures is shortened.≥ When you travel, do not forget to bringan AC adaptor (supplied) so that youcan recharge the batteries at yourdestination.If you drop the battery accidentally, checkto see if the terminals are damaged.≥ Attaching a battery with damagedterminals can damage the unit.Tips for storing the battery≥ The battery should be stored in thevinyl bag so metal does not come intocontact with the terminals.≥ The battery should be stored in a coolplace free from humidity, with asconstant temperature as possible.(Recommended temperature: 15 oC to25 oC (59 oF to 77 oF) , Recommendedhumidity: 40% to 60%)≥ Extremely high temperatures or lowtemperatures will shorten the life of thebattery.≥ If the battery is kept in high-temperature,high-humidity, or oily-smoky places, theterminals may rust and cause malfunctions.≥ To store the battery for a long period oftime, we recommend you charge itonce every year and store it again afteryou have completely used up thecharged capacity.≥ Dust and other matter attached to thebattery terminals should be removed.Do not throw old battery into fire.≥ Heating a battery or throwing it into afire may result in an explosion.≥ If the operating time is very short evenafter the battery has been recharged,the battery has worn out. Pleasepurchase a new battery.≥ Be sure to use the supplied ACadaptor.≥ If you use the AC adaptor near a radio,radio reception may be disturbed.Keep the AC adaptor 1 m (3.3 feet) ormore away from the radio.≥ When using the AC adaptor, it maygenerate whirring sounds. However,this is normal.≥ After use, be sure to disconnect the ACadaptor. (If it is left connected, about0.1 W of current is consumed at most.)≥ Always keep the electrodes of the ACadaptor and battery clean.Put this unit near the outlet to make iteasy for the interrupting device (plug)to reach it.About charging errorsWhen the status indicator flashesrapidly or slowly, one of the followingsituations may be to blame.When the status indicator flashes atintervals of about 6 seconds (on forabout 3 sec. and off for about 3 sec.):≥ The battery may have excessivelydischarged.
