70 Chapter 4Using the TV’s Menu SystemTime MenuThe Time menu lets you set up time-related features and a 1394 timedrecording. Time menu consists of Sleep Timer, Record/Wake Timer, and Timeof Day.• Sleep Timer A one-time event that is used to set the TV to turn off at aspecific time.• Record/Wake Timer Used to turn the TV on and off at a specific timeevery day of the week and tune to a specific channel. In addition, it sets theTV to make a 1394 recording if a 1394 component is connected, set up, andthe channel selected is digital. See pages 59 and 72 for more information ona 1394 recording.• Time of Day Enables you to enter the correct time manually if it hasn’tbeen acquired automatically.Note: If your TV does not automatically acquire the time, you mustremember to set your TV’s time when the time changes to Daylight SavingTime. The list shows the channelnumber, the station name when tuned, e.g. NBC, whether the channel is digitalor analog, which antenna is picking up the channel, and current signal strengthof digital channels.When you move the highlight to the Antenna Info list, the TV attempts to tuneto the channel. You can then adjust your off-air antenna for maximum signalstrength (largest number) for the selected channel. The signal strength for adigital channel will be shown as “- -” until the signal is strong enough for use,then numbers will appear. Analog channels will always have the display,“N/A”, since analog signal strength is not measured.Only primary channels appear in the list. Subchannels, e.g. 8-1, 8-2, do notappear.Connections MenuThe Connections menu specifies various ways to adjust the inputs to your television. Items inthe Connections menu are: Antenna Info, Channel Search, Software Upgrade, Signal Source,Signal Type, Auto Tuning, 1394 Setup, Special Features, and Ethernet Setup.
