The first time you light the grillthere may be a little smoke given off - this is perfectlynormal.2Remove the pan from the bottom of the grillcompartment.3After placing your food on the grill tray pan, slidethe grill pan onto the side supports just below theburners. Never close the grill door while the grillis on.5 .The grill has a special safety device (FSD) that stopsthe flow of gas to the grill if the flame goes out.Press the igniter button. Press in the grill knob andturn to the large flame symbol ( ). Keep holding thegrill knob pressed for about 10 seconds. This lets gasthrough to the burner so the safety device can detectthe flame.If when you let go of the control knob the burner goesout, the safety device has not held in. Turn off the grilland wait one minute then try again this time holdingin the button for slightly longer.6The low position, marked with the small flamesymbol, is beyond high, not between high and off.7The grill pan grid can be turned over to give twogrilling positions.For best results, especially on toast, preheat thegrill with the grill pan in the cooking position for twominutes before use. The grill trivet can be removedand the food placed on it while you are waiting forthe grill to preheat. After placing your food on the grillpan grid, slide the grill pan onto the side supports justbelow the burners. Adjust the flame height to suit byturning the knob.Don’t leave the grill on for more than a few moments,without the grill pan underneath it.You can brown the top of dishes cooked in the oven,under the grill. Remove the grill trivet and place thedish onto the base of the grill pan. Slide the grill panalong the floor of the grill cavity.
