Chapter 7: Virtual KVM Client (VKC and VKCs) Help285Calibrating ColorUse the Calibrate Color command to optimize the color levels (hue,brightness, saturation) of the transmitted video images.The color settings are on a target server-basis.Note: When color is successfully calibrated, the values are cached andreused each time you switch to the target. Changes to the brightnessand contrast in Video Settings are not cached. Changing resolutionresets the video to the cached values again. You can clear the cachedvalues in Video > Clear Video Settings Cache. See Clear VideoSettings Cache (on page 285).To calibrate the color: Choose Video > Calibrate Color, or click the Calibrate Color buttonin the toolbar.The target device screen updates its color calibration.Clear Video Settings CacheYou can clear the video settings cache to delete old settings that do notapply anymore, such as when a target server is replaced. When youclear the video settings cache, the server automatically does a videoauto-sense and color calibration. The new values are cached and reusedwhen the target is accessed again.To clear the video settings cache:Choose Video > Clear Video Settings Cache in the toolbar.Adjusting Video SettingsUse the Video Settings command to manually adjust the video settings.To change the video settings:1. Choose Video > Video Settings to open the Video Settings dialog.2. Adjust the following settings as required. As you adjust the settingsthe effects are immediately visible:a. PLL SettingsClock - Controls how quickly video pixels are displayed acrossthe video screen. Changes made to clock settings cause thevideo image to stretch or shrink horizontally. Odd numbersettings are recommended. Under most circumstances, thissetting should not be changed because the autodetect is usuallyquite accurate.
