82EmailEmail (or Internet Email) enables you to review andcreate email using several email services. You canalso receive text message alerts when you receive animportant email. Your phone’s Email application letsyou access and manage multiple email accountssimultaneously in one convenient location.There are currently three main types of emailaccounts on your phone: Gmail, Internet-based email(Gmail, Yahoo, etc..), and Microsoft Exchange(Corporate email or Outlook®).To send and receive email messages through an ISP(Internet Service Provider) account, or if you wish touse your device to access your corporate emailthrough a VPN (Virtual Private Network), you will firstneed to set up an IMAP or POP account.• IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol) - This protocolis frequently used in large networks and commercialsettings. IMAP4 is the current standard.• POP3 (Post Office Protocol) - This protocol is supported bymost ISPs (Internet service providers) and commonamong consumer applications. POP3 is the currentstandard.• Microsoft Exhange ActiveSync - This protocol isfrequently used with a large corporate email serversystem and provides access to email, contact, andcalendar synchronization.Creating an Internet Email Account1. From the Home screen, tap (Applications)➔ (Email). If you already have emailaccounts, your accounts screen is displayed.2. Enter your email address in the Email addressfield. The phone will try to resolve the emailaddress.3. Enter your password in the Password field andtap Next.• Tap Manual setup to configure your connectionsettings manually (POP3 or IMAP). Follow the on-screen prompts and enter the information specific toyour email provider.• The unique account name is used to differentiate thisaccount from other email accounts accessed by yourdevice.4. At the Your accounts screen, name the accountand enter a screen name to identify yourself onthis account. If you have already setup thisaccount, skip to step 6.5. Messages for this account display on the Inboxtab. You can also view Personal information forthis account, Receipts (if you setup the accountto return receipts), Travel information, andmore (if available).6. Tap Done to store the new account.Important!: Only some “Plus” accounts include POP accessallowing this program to connect. If you are not ableto sign in with your correct email address andpassword, you may not have a paid “Plus” account.Launch the Web browser to access your account.
