Media and tray_ 46folds over to seal must use adhesives compatible with the machine’sfusing temperature about 170°C (338 °F) for 0.1 second. The extra flapsand strips might cause wrinkling, creasing, or jams and may even dam-age the fuser.• For the best print quality, position margins no closer than 15 mm fromthe edges of the envelope.• Avoid printing over the area where the envelope’s seams meet.TransparencyTo avoid damaging the machine, use only transparencies designed for usein laser printers.• Transparencies used in the machine must be able to withstandmachine’s fusing temperature.• Place them on a flat surface after removing them from the machine.• Do not leave unused transparencies in the paper tray for long periods oftime. Dust and dirt may accumulate on them, resulting in spotty printing.• To avoid smudging caused by fingerprints, handle them carefully.• To avoid fading, do not expose printed transparencies to prolonged sun-light.• Ensure that transparencies are not wrinkled, curled, or have any tornedges.• Do not use transparencies that separates from the backing sheet.• To prevent transparencies from sticking to each other, do not let theprinted sheets stack up as they are begin printed out.• Base type transparency (ex. Xerox 3R3117) results in better image andpaper handling quality than paper backed (ex. Xerox 3R3028) or remov-able stripe (3R3108) ones.Depending on the selection or storage conditions of the transpar-ency, jam or image scratch might occur.LabelsTo avoid damaging the machine, use only labels designed for use in lasermachines.• When selecting labels, consider the following factors:- Adhesives: The adhesive material should be stable at yourmachine’s fusing temperature about 170°C (338 °F).- Arrangement: Only use labels with no exposed backing betweenthem. Labels can peel off sheets that have spaces between thelabels, causing serious jams.- Curl: Prior to printing, labels must lie flat with no more than 13 mmof curl in any direction.- Condition: Do not use labels with wrinkles, bubbles, or other indica-tions of separation.• Do not use labels with slick back.• Do not use partially used labels.• Do not use the labels with separated edges.• Make sure that there is no exposed adhesive material between labels.Exposed areas can cause labels to peel off during printing, which cancause paper jams. Exposed adhesive can also cause damage tomachine components.• Do not run a sheet of labels through the machine more than once. Theadhesive backing is designed for only a single pass through themachine.• Do not use labels that are separating from the backing sheet or are wrin-kled, bubbled, or otherwise damaged.Card stock/Custom-sized paper• Do not print on media smaller than 76.2 mm (3 inches) wide or 127 mm(5 inches) long.• In the software application, set margins at least 6.4 mm (0.25 inches)away from the edges of the material.• Usable minimum weight of 3*5 inches paper is 105g/m². (28 lbs bond)• Ensure that 76.2 mm (3 inches) X 127 mm (5 inches) is not curled or hasno torn edges. Depending on the curl of 76.2 mm (3 inches) X 127 mm(5 inches) paper, jam might occur.
