43Phonebook42PhonebookSpeed-DiallingOnce you have stored phone numbers in the SIMcard, you can set up to eight speed-dial entriesand then dial them easily whenever you want,simply by pressing the associated number key.Setting Up Speed-dial Entries1. When the idle screen is displayed, press theName soft key.2. Scroll to Speed Dial by pressing the orkey and press the Select soft key.3. Select the key, 2 to 9, to which you wish toassign the speed-dialling feature and pressthe OK soft key.Note: If you have already assigned a number tothe key, the Options soft key replacesthe OK soft key. Go to Step 6.4. Select the required Phonebook entry from thelist and press the View soft key.5. Select the required number if the entry hasmore than one number, by pressing the orkey and press the Select soft key.6. Once you have assigned a number to theselected key, the following options areavailable:• Change: allows you to assign a differentnumber to the key.• Erase: allows you to clear the setting sothat no number is assigned to the key.• Erase All: allows you to clear the settingsfor all keys so that no numbers areassigned to any of the keys.• Number: allows you to view the numberassigned to the key.7. When you have finished, press the C orkey.Speed-dialling from the PhonebookTo speed-dial the numbers assigned to keys, 2to 9, press and hold down the appropriate key.Note: Memory location 1 is reserved for your VoiceMail server number.Checking the Memory StatusYou can check how many names and numbersare stored in the Phonebook; SIM card andphone memories. You can also see the capacityof both memories.1. When the idle screen is displayed, press theName soft key.2. Select the Memory Status option.3. Press the or key to view the number ofexisting and remaining entries in the card andphone memories.4. When you have finished, press the C orkey.
