English 72FRAME RATE AND MOVIE FILE SIZESMovies can be recorded at two frame rates: 15 fps and 30 fps. The higher theframe rate, the smoother the moving image and the larger the file sizes.Frame rate is set in section 1 of the movie/audio recording menu (page 57).If image size or frame rate ischanged, the frame counterdisplays the approximate number ofseconds that can be recorded withthe installed card. The total timethat can be stored on a card isdetermined by the capacity of thecard and the recording rate. Theactual file size is determined by thescene; some subjects can becompressed further than others.The writing speed of the card mayprematurely end the recording of amovie clip.MOVIE MODEThe movie mode option selects the type of movie recorded. Standardproduces a normal movie clip. Night Movie uses high camera sensitivity torecord under low light levels; camera sensitivity increases automatically in lowlight. Image quality can be set lower with Night Movies because of the highersensitivity.
