English 94FILE NUMBER (#) MEMORYIf file number memory is selected, when a new folder is created, the first filestored in the folder will have a number one greater than the last file saved. Ifthe file number memory is disabled, the image file number will be 0001. Filenumber memory is activated in section 1 of the setup menu (page 91).If file number memory is active and the card is changed, the first file saved tothe new card will have a number one greater than the last file saved on theprevious card if the new card does not contain an image with a greater filenumber. If it does, the file number of the new image will be one greater thanthe greatest on the new card.FOLDER NAMEAll recorded images are stored in folders on the card.Folder names come in two formats, standard and date.Standard folders have an eight character name. Theinitial folder is named 100SANPH. The first three digitsare the folder’s serial number, which will increase by oneeach time a new folder is created.A date folder name also starts with the three-digit serialnumber and is followed by one register for the year, tworegisters for the month, and two registers for the day:101YMMDD. The folder 10140824 was created in 2004on August 24th.With the date folder format selected, when an image isrecorded a new folder with the day’s date will becreated. All images recorded that day are placed in that folder. Imagesrecorded on a different day are placed in a new folder with the correspondingdate. If the file number memory function is off, when a new folder is created,the serial number in the image-file name is reset to 0001.
