TB8100 Service Manual Reciter Fault Finding 95© Tait Electronics Limited September 20063.11 Final TasksOnce you have completed the testing and repair (if required) of the reciter,carry out the following tasks.Task 1 —Final Tests Test the reciter to confirm that it is fully functional again. Therecommended tests are listed below:1. Reprogram the customer’s configuration into the reciter, andre-enable the customer’s feature sets (if necessary).2. Select a correctly configured channel.3. Check that no alarms are generated.4. Check that the DC supply current is correct (refer to Table 3.1 onpage 76).5. Inject an RF test signal (1kHz audio, 60% modulation) of therequired frequency at –80dBm (22.4μV). Check that theperformance of the receiver meets the specifications in Table 3.2 onpage 96.6. Key the exciter and check that the performance meets thespecifications in Table 3.3 on page 97.7. Inspect the reciter to make sure that nothing has been damagedduring any test or repair procedures. Make sure all screws securingthe cover to the heatsink are in place and tightened to the correcttorque.It is good practice to record the test results on a separate test sheet. You canthen supply a copy of the test sheet to the customer as confirmation of therepair.Task 2 —FinalAdministrationThe final administration tasks are the standard workshop procedures forupdating the fault database and returning the repaired reciter to thecustomer with confirmation of the repair.If the reciter could not be repaired for one of the following reasons:■ fault not located■ repair of fault failedLevel-1 service centres should return the faulty reciter to the nearestAccredited Service Centre, and level-2 service centres should return thereciter to the International Service Centre. Supply details of the customer,the fault and, if applicable, the attempted repair.
