You can set it to function duringboth playback and recording or only during recording.1 Press the METRONOME button to open the METRONOMEscreen.2 Set the following items. Use the F3 (§) and F4 (¶) buttonsto select each item, and turn the DATA wheel to change thevalue.MODEOFF Default, metronome OFFREC&PLAY Functions both duringrecording and playbackREC ONLY Functions only duringrecordingTEMPOSet speed from 20 to 250 beats per minute (BPM).The default setting is 120.BEATSet the frequency of the accent from 1 to 12 for differenttime signatures.The default setting is 4.LEVELSet the metronome volume from 0 to 100.The default setting is 100.3 When finished making settings, press the HOME button toreturn to the Home Screen.The metronome functions according to the MODE settingmade in step 2 above.The metronome signal is not recorded even if set to operateduring recording.NOTE• When the metronome is operating, you can monitor thesound of the metronome through connected externalspeakers. In this case, the metronome sound might also berecorded when you use a microphone to record.• When the metronome is operating, you can adjust theLEVEL, but other items on the METRONOME screencannot be changed. Moreover, during recording, youcannot open the METRONOME screen. You can adjust theLEVEL if you start recording while the METRONOMEscreen is open and do not switch to a different screen.TIP• You can use the metronome like a click track to help keeptime when recording the first tracks (rhythm guitar, bass,etc.) in a song.• If you want to use the metronome when practicing, youcan either turn each track’s fader all the way down duringplayback or play a song that does not have any recordings.TunerUse the built-in chromatic tuner to tune guitars and windinstruments.In addition to the chromatic tuner mode, which allows you totune an instrument while looking at the tuning meter, this unit’stuner, also has an oscillator mode that outputs a standard pitch.Chromatic tuner mode1 Connect a guitar or bass to INPUT A. INPUT B cannot beused for tuning.Use built-in MIC A when tuning wind instruments, forexample.2 Set the INPUT A switch to GUITAR (see “Selecting the inputsources” on page 33).To use the built-in mic, set the INPUT A switch to INTERNALMIC A.
