COLD WEATHER OPERATIONConsult the engine manufacturer’s operation manualfor proper cold weather starting procedure.When using cold weather starting aids, be sure tofollow the engine manufacturer’s instructions.(FIG. 16)After starting, operate all systems slowly and gentlyuntil properly warmed up.BOOSTER CABLE INSTRUCTIONS1. Connect positive (+) cable to positive post ofdischarged battery.2. Connect other end of same cable to same markedpost of booster battery.3. Connect negative (-) cable to other post ofbooster battery.4. Make final connection on stalled vehicle away frombattery, either on vehicle frame or engine block.5. Start vehicle and remove cables in reverse orderof connection.17START SAFELYREMEMBER THESE RULESWhen roading or operating a machine, always stayin the operator’s station. NEVER mount or dismounta machine that is moving. Maintain control of yourmachine at all times.ALWAYS operate your machine slowly until fullyfamiliarized with it’s operation.Constantly check your total work area forpotential hazards.Never JUMP on or off your machine. Use the stepsand handholds provided to mount or dismountsafely. Maintain three point contact when mountingor dismounting.(FIG. 17)• Never use controls or levers as hand holds.• Never jump off the machine.Look, listen and smell for possible malfunctions.
