Xerox 700 Digital Color Press User GuideProblem Solving8-41Corrective ActionProblemOutput contains black or graystripes either dotted or continuous,has stratches or undefined edges.Access the Sharpness/Color Saturation screenby selecting the Image Quality tab.Check that the Sharpness scroll is set to asofter setting.If you are copying your original from theDocument Glass, access the Original Sizescreen by selecting the Original Size button onthe Layout Adjustment tab.Clean the Document Glass.Ensure that the paper tray guides are againstthe edges of the loaded paper.Black Lines, Streaks, Spots,Smears or BandsIf lines or streaks are present, check the IBTCleaner Assembly for wear or damage, andreplace as required.If spots or bands occur every 126mm on theprints, the Yellow, Magenta, or Cyan Drum isdamaged or light-shocked.If spots or bands occur every 188mm, the BlackDrum is damaged or light-shocked.If lines, streaks, or deletions in the processdirection appear only with Black, then replacethe Black Scorotron Assembly.If the defect occurs every 36mm on the prints,do not replace the Drum. This interval is causedby a damaged or defective Developer Housing.On the General Settings tab, check that theLighten/Darken scroll is set to a lighten setting.
