Installing the Scan Driver7-3Installing the Scan DriverIf you plan to import scanned images directly into an application (such as Photoshop or Word), or scanimages directly to your computer, you must install a scan driver.Installing the Scan Driver (Windows)To install the scan driver from the Software Pack CD-ROM:1. Turn off the printer.2. Connect the computer and C1190 FS with a USB cable.3. Turn on the printer.If a setup screen requests for you to specify the driver's location while new hardware is being detected,insert the Software Pack CD-ROM into the computer's CD-ROM drive. Found New HardwareWizard is displayed.Note: If the Driver CD Kit screen starts, press the Exit button to close the screen.4. Specify by following the example below where the driver to be stored. Never select Search for asuitable driver for my device (recommended).■ “(CD-ROM drive name):\Common\Scan”5. Continue the procedure according to the instructions of the installer.6. Confirm that the icon for C1190 FS is displayed on the Scanners and Cameras screen.The method of displaying the Scanners and Cameras screen differs depending on the OS, asdescribed below.■ Windows 2000: Select Start>Settings>Control Panel>Scanner and Cameras.■ Windows XP: Select Start>Control Panel>Printers and Other Hardware>Scanner andCameras.■ Windows Server 2003: Select Start>Control Panel>Scanner and Cameras.■ Windows Server 2008: Select Start>Control Panel>Hardware and Sound>Scanner andCameras.■ Windows Vista: Select Start > Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Scanner andCameras.If the icon for C1190 FS is displayed, installation of the scan driver is completed.If the icon is not displayed, execute the procedure again from Step 1.See also:Express Scan Manager on page 3-3
