Service Manual 4-11Check Menu Definition TablesA submenu containing a set of extensive tests that return measured mechanismparameters for comparison against stated limits.Refer to the table associated with each test for their normal operating ranges. In caseswhere insufficient baseline data is available, the results have been left blank. Allresults from tests that move paper through the printer were collected using 24 lb. bondpaper.NoteCollecting 2 or 3 samples of the test data is recommended before deciding ona course of action. Many of the tests rely on mechanical positions and slightchanges can effect the results. Ensure that the printer is not out of paper, ink ormaintenance kit life. The diagnostics routines are not designed to address all ofthese conditions consistently. If a test result differs significantly from the typical values defined in thefollowing tables, check the entire system containing the problem component toensure a problem within the system is not influencing the test results. To access the Check Menus enter Service Diagnostics and go to Check Menu -->Check Activators Menu. The Check All selection will run all check tests, taking 1.5 hours to complete and isnot for use by field technicians.Check / Activators MenuHead Maintenance ClutchGathers data on the performance of the head maintenance clutch coil.R# DefinitionTypicalValue Actions0 Peak Power (watts) 3.0 to 5.9 Reports the profile max power value.1 Average Power(watts)2.8 to 6.0 Reports the average power during the constantportion of the profile.Deskew ClutchGathers data on the performance of the deskew clutch coil.R# DefinitionTypicalValue Actions0 Peak Power (watts) 2.5 to 5.3 Reports the profile max power.
