On the User Permissions page, under Action, next to LDAP Server or SMB Server, click Edit.2. If you are using an LDAP server for authorization, configure LDAP server settings as needed. Fordetails, see LDAP on page 56.Note: The printer uses the primary LDAP server for authentication, authorization, andpersonalization. The primary LDAP server is the server that appears at the top of the LDAP server liston the LDAP Server page in CentreWare Internet Services. If you already have configured LDAPserver settings, the printer uses this server automatically when you select LDAP as the networkauthentication or authorization method. The printer only uses alternate LDAP servers forauthorization and personalization when primary LDAP server communication fails.3. If you are using an SMB server for authorization:a. Under Configuration, type the Default Domain.b. Select the address type.c. Type the appropriately formatted IP address.d. Under Login Credentials to Access SMB Server, select an option:• None does not require the printer to provide the server a user name or password.• Logged-in User instructs the printer to log in to the repository using the credentials of thelogged-in user.• System uses the information provided in the Login Name and Password Fields to accessthe server.e. If you select System, type the Login Name and Password used to access the server. Type thepassword, then type the password again to verify.f. Enable Select to save new password to update the password for an existing Login Name.g. Click Save.User PermissionsYou can control access to service and tools, and printing times and methods for a group of users.Print permissions are rules that allow you to control printing times and methods for a group of users. Youcan:• Restrict color printing, requiring users to print in black and white.• Restrict 1-sided printing, requiring users to print 2-sided.• Restrict a Job Type, such as Secure Print.• Restrict access to specific paper trays.• Specify the software applications from which users are allowed to print.• Restrict printing, color printing, and 1-sided printing from specific software applications.
