VX-120 OPERATING MANUAL 57DTMF PAGER OPERATION (REQUIRES OPTIONAL FTD-7)When you activate the ANI (Automatic Number Identification) feature during DTMF Pageroperation, the DTMF tones stored in ANI memory will automatically be sent wheneveryou press the PTT switch. When the ANI is received, the LCD will displays the receivedANI code after the 3-digit DTMF pager code.Storing the ANI code1. Press the [F] key, then press the [LOW(LOCK)SET] key, to enter the Set mode.2. Rotate the DIAL knob to select Set Mode Item 54: ANI.WRT.3. Press the [F] key momentarily to display any previously-stored ANI code.4. Press the [F] key again to clear any previous ANI code.5. Rotate the DIAL knob to select the first number/letter (0-9, A, B, C, D, E (substitutefor “”), and F (substitute for “#”), then press the [F] key momentarily to save thefirst letter/number and move on to the next character.6. Repeat the previous step, as many times as necessary (up to 16 characters), to com-plete ANI code. If you make a mistake, press the [(MHz)] key to move back to theprevious letter/number’s slot, then re-select the correct letter/number.7. When you have finished entering the ANI code and it contains less than 16 characters,press and hold in the [F] key for one second to confirm the callsign. (if the ANI codehas exactly 16 characters, you do not need to press and hold in [F] in this step).8. Press the PTT switch to save the settings and exit to normal operation.You may check your work by monitoring the entered callsign. To do this,repeat steps 1- 7 above, then press the MONI switch.Activating the ANI feature1. Press the [F] key, then press the [LOW(LOCK)SET] key, to enter the Set mode.2. Rotate the DIAL knob to select Set Mode Item 53: ANI.3. Press the [F] key momentarily to enable adjustment of this SetMode Item.4. Rotate the DIAL knob to select “ON.”5. Press the PTT switch to save the new setting and activate theANI feature.6. Press the PTT switch to send the DTMF tones stored in ANImemory after the 3-digit DTMF pager code which is stored in the last-selected DTMFPager Memory register.7. When you receive a ANI code, the LCD will displays the re-ceived ANI code after the 3-digit DTMF pager code. You mayscroll the received ANI code by rotating the DIAL knob.8.
