Instead, take the out-board motor to a Yamaha dealer. You shouldperiodically remove and check the sparkplug because heat and deposits will causethe spark plug to slowly break down anderode.To remove the spark plug1. Remove the flywheel magnet cover afterremoving the bolt.2. Remove the ECM (Electronic ControlModule) cover.3. Remove the bolt that is securing the ig-nition coil, and then remove the ignitioncoil. NOTICE: Do not use any tools toremove or install the ignition coil.Otherwise, the ignition coil couplercould be damaged. [ECM02331]4. Remove the spark plug.
