Remove the oil dipstick and wipe itclean.15. Insert the dipstick and remove it again.Be sure to completely insert the dipstickinto the dipstick guide, otherwise the oillevel measurement will be incorrect.16. Recheck the oil level using the dipstickto be sure the level falls between the up-per and lower marks. Consult yourYamaha dealer if the oil level is out ofspecified level.17. Start the engine and make sure that thelow oil pressure-alert indicator remainsoff. Also, make sure that there are no oilleaks. NOTICE: If the low oil pressure-alert indicator comes on or if thereare oil leaks, stop the engine and findthe cause. Continued operation witha problem could cause severe enginedamage.
