Check: starter clutch idle gear 1 starter clutch drive gear 2Burrs/chips/roughness/wear Replacethe defective part(s).3. Check: starter clutch gear’s contacting surfaces aDamage/pitting/wear Replace the starterclutch gear.4. Check: starter clutch operationa. Install the starter clutch drive gear 1 ontothe starter clutch 2 and hold the starterclutch.b. When turning the starter clutch drive gearclockwise A , the starter clutch and the start-er clutch drive gear should engage, other-wise the starter clutch is faulty and must bereplaced.c. When turning the starter clutch drive gearcounterclockwise B , it should turn freely,otherwise the starter clutch is faulty and mustbe replaced.EAS00355INSTALLING THE STARTER CLUTCH1. Install: starter clutch While holding the generator rotor 1 with thesheave holder 2 , tighten the starter clutchbolt.
