Make sure the select lever is in NEUTRAL. Adjust the control cable so there is zero freeplay in the cable. When the adjustment iscorrect, slack in the return spring 2 will betaken up.NOTE:In some cases it will be necessary to furtheradjust the cable with the locknuts 3arrangement that holds the cable to its mount.
