START-UPAxiovert 200 Illuminator N HBO 103 Carl ZeissB 40-080 e 03/01 2-272.13.4 Fine adjustment of illuminatorN HBO 103 using the adjusting aidAttach illuminator N HBO 103 to the microscopestand, tighten the clamping screw, and switch onthe illuminator.• Pull out adjusting aid (2-37/7) from theincident-light tube. The brighter focal spot ofthe HBO 103 W/2 lamp and its slightly darkerreflector image become visible in the black glasswindow of the adjusting aid.• Use knurled knob (2-37/6) to focus on thebrighter focal spot via collector adjustment.• Apply SW 3 ball-headed screwdriver onadjusting screw (2-37/3) to focus on the slightlydarker, reflected focal spot of the lamp.• If required, set knurled knob (2-37/6) andadjusting screw (2-37/3) repeatedly until bothfocal spots have the same dimension.• Use adjusting screws (2-37/4 and 5) to adjustthe brighter focal spot in the adjusting circle,e.g. on the left side, in accordance with thefocal spot image (2-37/8).• Use adjusting screws (2-37/1 and 2) marked with a dot to adjust the darker focal spot in the adjustingcircle, e.g. on the right side, in accordance with the focal spot image.• Push in adjusting aid again. The two focal spots of the HBO 103 W/2 lamp must not superimpose in the adjusting circle ofthe adjusting aid!If required, the above settings for fine adjustment of the N HBO 103 illuminator can beperformed repeatedly.Fig. 2-37 Adjusting aid and illuminator NHBO 103
