Chapter 5: Local Management5-302H23-50R/2H33-37R User’s Guide5.7.10.1 Changing the COM Port ApplicationAfter enabling the COM port as described in Section 5.7.10, one of theapplications supported by the COM port (LM or UPS) can be selected.The default application is LM.To change the COM port application:1. Use the arrow keys to highlight the Application field.2. Use the SPACE bar or BACKSPACE to step through the availablesettings until the operation you require displays. Table 5-3 lists theavailable settings and their corresponding applications.3. Press ENTER to accept the application.4. Use the arrow keys to highlight the SAVE command at the bottom ofthe screen, then press the ENTER key. Ensurethat the device has a valid IP address before saving changes tothe COM port application. If the device does not have a valid IPaddress and the changes are saved, refer to Appendix C forinstructions on clearing NVRAM in order to reestablish COMport communications.!CAUTIONClearing NVRAM results in the loss of all user-enteredparameters. Do not proceed unless the following procedure iscompletely understood.
