You can switch from English to metric units through theDriver Information Center (DIC). If you have the Baseaudio system, see DIC Main Menu on page 3-53. If youhave the Navigation system, see “Setup Menu” in theNavigation System Manual.The air-conditioning system removes moisture from theair, so you may sometimes notice a small amount ofwater dripping underneath your vehicle while idlingor after turning off the engine. This is normal.Do not cover the solar sensor located in the center ofthe instrument panel, near the windshield. For moreinformation on the solar sensor, see “Sensors” laterin this section.Manual OperationzNy (Mode): Pressing the mode switch andchanging the mode cancels automatic operation andplaces the system in manual mode. Press AUTOto return to automatic operation.The outboard air outlets will always receive airflowregardless of the mode selected. See Outlet Adjustmenton page 3-30 to change this airflow from the outboardoutlets.To change the current mode, select one of the following:Y (Vent): This mode directs air to the instrumentpanel outlets.\ (Bi-Level): This mode directs approximately half ofthe air to the instrument panel outlets, and thendirects most of the remaining air to the floor outlets.Some air may be directed toward the windshield.In automatic operation, cooler air is directed to the upperoutlets and warmer air to the floor outlets.[ (Floor): This mode directs most of the air to thefloor outlets with some air directed to the outboardoutlets (for the side windows), and a little air directed tothe windshield.The mode switch can also be used to select the defogmode. Information on defogging and defrosting canbe found later in this section.z9y (Fan): Press this switch to increase ordecrease the fan speed. Pressing this switch cancelsautomatic operation and places the system in manualmode. Press AUTO to return to automatic operation.3-26
