How to Reset the Change TransmissionFluid Message and the TransmissionFluid IndicatorAfter the transmission fluid has been changed, theChange Trans Fluid message and the transmission fluidlife indicator must be reset. To reset the messageand indicator, use one of the following procedures:Base Audio SystemPress the CLR (Clear) button located to the right of theDriver Information Center (DIC) display to acknowledgethe CHANGE TRANS FLUID message. This willclear the message from the display and reset it.To reset the transmission fluid life indicator, use thefollowing steps:1. Press the up or down arrow on the INFO(Information) button located to the right of theDIC display to access the DIC menu.2. Once the XXX% TRANS FLUID LIFE menu itemis highlighted, press and hold the CLR button.The percentage will return to 100, and thetransmission fluid life indicator will be reset.3. Repeat the steps if the percentage does notreturn to 100.Navigation SystemIf your vehicle has a navigation system, see yournavigation system supplement for instructions on howto reset the transmission fluid life indicator.Engine CoolantThe cooling system in your vehicle is filled withDEX-COOL® engine coolant. This coolant is designedto remain in your vehicle for five years or 150,000 miles(240 000 km), whichever occurs first, if you add onlyDEX-COOL® extended life coolant.The following explains your cooling system and howto add coolant when it is low. If you have a problemwith engine overheating, see Engine Overheatingon page 5-29.A 50/50 mixture of clean, drinkable water andDEX-COOL® coolant will:• Give freezing protection down to −34°F (−37°C).• Give boiling protection up to 265°F (129°C).• Protect against rust and corrosion.• Help keep the proper engine temperature.• Let the warning lights and gages work asthey should.5-26
