Care of Your CD or DVD-A PlayerDo not add any label to a disc, it could get caught in theCD/DVD-A player. If a disc is recorded on a personalcomputer and a description label is needed, label the topof the recorded disc with a marking pen.The use of disc lens cleaners for discs is not advised,due to the risk of contaminating the lens of the discoptics with lubricants internal to the CD/DVD-A playermechanism.Notice: If a label is added to a CD, or more thanone CD is inserted into the slot at a time, or anattempt is made to play scratched or damaged CDs,the CD player could be damaged. While using theCD player, use only CDs in good condition withoutany label, load one CD at a time, and keep theCD player and the loading slot free of foreignmaterials, liquids, and debris.If an error displays, see “Disc Messages” later in thissection.Playing an MP3/WMA DiscRadios with the MP3 feature are capable of playing anMP3/WMA CD-R or CD-RW disc. Radios with theDVD Audio feature, are capable of playing MP3/WMAon DVD+/-R discs. For more information, see Usingan MP3 on page 3-101 later in this section.Disc MessagesDISC ERROR: If this message displays and/or the discejects, it could be for one of the following reasons:• The radio system does not support the playlistformat, the compressed audio format, or the data fileformat.• It is very hot. When the temperature returns tonormal, the disc should play.• You are driving on a very rough road. When theroad becomes smoother, the disc should play.• The disc is dirty, scratched, wet, or upside down.• The air is very humid. If so, wait about an hour andtry again.• There could have been a problem while burningthe disc.• The label could be caught in the CD/DVD-A player.If the disc is not playing correctly, for any otherreason, try a known good disc.If any error occurs repeatedly or if an error cannot becorrected, contact your dealer/retailer. If the radiodisplays an error message, write it down and provide itto your dealer/retailer when reporting the problem.3-91
