Failure toread and follow the instructionscould injure you or others anddamage the vehicle.{ WarningAfter the bonnet has lifted, therear bonnet hinge area may behot. Do not touch the pedestrianprotection system components.Allow the engine to cool beforeattempting any repair.{ WarningYou or others could be injuredwhen the bonnet is lowered orlatched.Be sure to keep fingers and otherbody parts away from the edge ofthe bonnet and wings.1. Place both hands on top of theright corner of the bonnet nearthe windscreen and push thebonnet down quickly.If the bonnet does not latch,push down again with slightlymore force until the bonnet islatched securely.2. Repeat the previous step tolatch the left side of the bonnet.3. Pull up on the rear corners of thebonnet to make sure the bonnetis latched securely and willnot lift.{ WarningDo not drive the vehicle if thebonnet is not securely latched atboth rear corners.Operating your vehicle without thebonnet securely latched can leadto a collision resulting in damageto your vehicle, damage to otherproperty, personal injury, or evendeath.4. Drive directly to a dealer forservice. If you cannot go in forservice immediately, have thevehicle towed.Some noise will occur when thevehicle is driven while thebonnet is temporarilyrepositioned.If you do not have the systemrepaired, the pedestrian protectionsystem will not be operable in theevent of another crash or frontalimpact involving a pedestrian.
