The rear windowdemister may come on duringremote start based on cold ambientconditions. The rear demist indicatorlight does not come on duringremote start.If equipped, the heated andventilated front seats may alsocome on when the vehiclepersonalisation setting is enabled.See Heated and Ventilated FrontSeats on page 3-8.Laws in some local communitiesmay restrict the use of remotestarters. For example, some lawsmay require a person using remotestart to have the vehicle in view.Check local regulations for anyrequirements.If your vehicle is low on fuel, do notuse the remote start feature. Thevehicle may run out of fuel.The RKE transmitter range may beshorter while the vehicle is running.Other conditions can affect theperformance of the transmitter. SeeRemote Keyless Entry (RKE)System on page 2-2.Starting the Engine Using RemoteStart1. Press and release Q on theRKE transmitter.2. Immediately press and hold /for at least four seconds or untilthe indicator lamps flash. Thisconfirms the request to remotestart the vehicle has beenreceived.During the remote start, thedoors will be locked and theparking lamps will remain on aslong as the engine is running.The engine will shut off after10 minutes unless a timeextension is done or the ignitionis put in ON/RUN/START.3. Press the brake pedal and selectthe ON/RUN/START ignitionmode to drive the vehicle.Extending Engine Run TimeThe engine run time can also beextended by another 10 minutes,if during the first 10 minutesSteps 1–2 are repeated while theengine is still running. An extensioncan be requested, 30 seconds afterstarting. This provides a total of20 minutes.
