For more details, refer to Handling Precautions ( 97).Back up your recordings periodicallyMake sure to transfer your movies to anexternal device such as a computer ordigital video recorder ( 37) and backthem up on a regular basis.Do not subject the camcorder tovibrations or strong impactsThe hard disk is a high-precision device.Vibrations, strong impacts or dropping thecamcorder may result in permanent dataloss.Keep the drop sensor activatedwhenever possibleThe drop sensor ( 44) detects when thecamcorder is dropped and activates aprotection mechanism to help prevent harddisk damage. Turning this function off willdisable the mechanism. Even if thisfunction is set to [ ON] and thecamcorder is dropped, hard disk damagecan occur.Do not disconnect the power sourcewhile the HDD access indicator is on orflashingTo prevent hard disk damage, do notdisconnect the power source or turn off thecamcorder while the HDD access indicatoris on or flashing.
