Aperture74Momentary Automatic Aperture - Push Auto IrisDuring manual aperture, you can press the PUSH AUTO IRIS button to have the camera temporarily take controland adjust the aperture automatically for an optimal exposure.This function is not available when slow & fast motion recording is activated.1 Select > [v Camera Setup] > [Iris Mode] > [Manual].• When using a compatible EF Cinema/broadcast lens, enableautomatic adjustment on the lens (A 72).2 Press and hold the PUSH AUTO IRIS button.• The camera will automatically adjust the aperture to obtainoptimal exposure. As long as you hold the button presseddown, E will appear on the screen next to the aperture value.• When you release the button, automatic aperture mode will endand the E icon will disappear. The selected aperture value willappear at the bottom of the screen.NOTESNOTES• You can use the > [v Camera Setup] > [AE Response] setting to change how quickly the aperturechanges during automatic aperture mode. Similarly, when> [Æ Recording/Media Setup] > [Sensor Mode] is set to [Full Frame] or [Super 35mm (Cropped)] anda broadcast lens is attached to the camera, the camera will not achieve optimal exposure either.• The aperture value may change in the following cases.- While using the built-in extender or iris compensation function of an EF Cinema lens, when you switch fromautomatic aperture to manual aperture.- When the aperture controls on the lens are switched between automatic/manual mode.• When using EF Cinema lenses/broadcast lenses that let you adjust the aperture gain, if the aperture gain is settoo high, the aperture adjustment may not be stable (“aperture hunting”), depending on the shootingconditions. In such case, reset the lens's aperture gain to its initial value.
