Chapter 55-15.1 MEASUREMENT AND ADJUSTMENT5.1.1 Adjustment of Electrical Components5.1.1.1 After Replacing the DC controller PCB 0015-2314i-SENSYS LBP5300In the case that the DC controller PCB has been replaced, start the status win-dow and execute the following procedure.1) Execute Service Mode Option Menu > Printer Setting Restoration. After executing the printer recovery setting, wait completion of the process-ing for approx. 15 sec.2) Turn off/on the power supply of the host machine.3) Execute Option Menu > Utility > Out-of-Register Colors Correction.4) Execute Option Menu > Utility > Calibration.Step for Moving to Service Mode1) After power on, display the printer driver screen.2) Display the status window [1] from the driver screen.3) Enter the password (*28*) with the numeric pad.4) The service mode [2] is displayed on ‘Option’ menu of the status windowscreen.F-5-1F-5-25.1.1.2 After Replacing the DC controller PCB 0015-2324/ i-SENSYS LBP5360 / i-SENSYS LBP5300In the case that the DC controller PCB has been replaced, execute the follow-ing procedure.1) Execute the service mode function gr. > RESTORE DCON to restore thebackup data stored in EEPROM of the video controller PCB.2) Execute Utility Menu > STATUS PRINT.3) Execute Utility Menu > CALIBRATION > COLOR REGIS.ADJ.5.1.1.3 After Replacing the Video Controller PCB 0015-2315i-SENSYS LBP5300In the case that the video controller PCB has been replaced, remove EEP-ROM (ICS11S) from the old PCB and mount it in the new PCB.Execute the following procedure when replacing the video controller PCB.1) Turn on the power supply of the host machine.2) Execute Option Menu > Utility > Out-of-Register Colors Correction in thestatus window.3) Execute Option Menu > Utility > Calibration in the status window.5.1.1.4 After Replacing the Video Controller PCB 0015-2426/ i-SENSYS LBP5360In the case that the video controller PCB has been replaced, remove EEP-ROM (ICS11S) from the old PCB and mount it in the new PCB.Execute the following procedure when replacing the video controller PCB.1) Execute Service Mode > Function gr. > CLEAR DCON.2) Turn off/on the power supply.3) Execute Utility Menu > Status Print.4) Execute Utility Menu > CALIBRATION > COLOR REGIS.ADJ.Execute the same procedure as the one for replacement of the video control-ler PCB also when EEPROM (ICS11S) was replaced.5.1.1.5 Replacing EEPROM (When E747-000 occurs) 0015-2527i-SENSYS LBP53001) Replace the video controller board or EEPROM (IC2S).2) Turn on the power supply of the host machine.3) Execute Option Menu > Utility > Out-of-Register Colors Correction in thestatus window.4) Execute Option Menu > Utility > Calibration in the status window.MemoWhen EEPROM was replaced, a new USB serial number in EEPROM is as-signed. The number of the printers on PC increases when USB is connected.5.1.2 Adjustment of Fixing System5.1.2.1 Checking the Nip Width (fixing pressure roller) 0014-2866/ i-SENSYS LBP5360 / i-SENSYS LBP5300Do not check the nip width in wrong order. The fixing sleeve breakage mayoccur, if you do not follow the procedures below. An incorrect nip width may cause the faulty fixing. Check the nip width byfollowing the procedure below if poor fixing image defect occurs. Replacethe fixing unit if the nip width is out of specification, since the nip width ofthe fixing unit is not adjustable in this printer.1) Make an all solid black print of A4 or Letter size using an EP cartridgesame as for this printer, and take the print to the customer's site.2) Place the solid black print, with the printed side facing UP, in the cassetteof the printer.3) Press the test print switch.4) Open the upper cover as soon as the leading edge of the paper appears inthe delivery slot. Leave it for ten seconds.5) Turn OFF the printer and take fixing unit from the printer. Then take thepaper out from the fixing unit.6) Measure the width of the glossy band across the paper and check that itmeets the requirements as shown in Figure.- Center (a): 8mm +/- 1mm- Difference between right/left and center (a-b, a-c): 0mm to 1mm- Difference between right and left (|b-c|): 1.5mm or less[1][2]
