Keyboard SettingsE-64Transpose lets you raise and lower the overall key of thekeyboard in semitone units. If you want to play anaccompaniment for a vocalist who sings in a key that’sdifferent from the keyboard, for example, simply usetranspose to change the key of the keyboard.1. Press the TRANSPOSE/FUNCTION button.• This causes a pointer to appear on the display next toTRANSPOSE/FUNCTION, and displays thetranspose setting screen.2. Use [+] and [–] to change the transpose setting ofthe keyboard.Example:To transpose the keyboard five semitonesupwards.• Pressing the TRANSPOSE/FUNCTION button exitsthe transpose screen.• The keyboard can be transposed within a range of –24 (twooctave downwards) to +24 (two octave upwards).• The transpose setting also affects playback from songmemory and Auto Accompaniment.• The allowable pitch range you can transpose within dependson the tone you are using. If a transpose operation causes anote to be outside of the pitch range for the tone being used,the keyboard automatically plays the same note in thenearest octave that falls within the pitch range of the tone youare using.When touch response is turned on, the relative volume ofsound output by the keyboard is varied in accordance withthe amount of pressure applied, just like an acoustic piano.1. Press the TRANSPOSE/FUNCTION button.• This causes a pointer to appear on the display next toTRANSPOSE/FUNCTION.2. Use the [ ] and [ ] CURSOR buttons to displaythe touch response setting screen.3.
