E-77738A-E-079AUsing the SMF PlayerConfiguring Other SettingsTo configure other settings1 While playback is stopped, select the file you wantto play back.• Perform steps 1 through 3 under “To play back anSMF” to select a file.2 Press the [] CURSOR button to display a screenfor selecting the part you want to play on thekeyboard (play along part).• Use the [] and [] CURSOR buttons, the [+] and [–]buttons, or the number buttons to select the play alongpart.• You can specify the part you want to play on thekeyboard (the play-along part) as a value in the rangeof 1 through 16.• After specifying a part, turn off the channel thatcorresponds to the play-along part you selected. See“Turning Channels On and Off” on page E-40 for moreinformation. Performing this step turns off theapplicable part so you can play it on the keyboardalong with the rest of the SMF playback.NOTE• Entering the SMF Player Mode initializes all parts byturning on all Mixer Mode channels.3 Press the [] CURSOR button to display theplayback mode selection screen. Use the [] and[] CURSOR buttons or the [+] and [–] buttons toselect the playback mode.You can select from among the following four playbackmodes.S1 : One file, one timeSL : One file, repeatA1 : All files, one timeAL : All files, repeat4 Press the [] CURSOR button to display the outputmode selection screen.• Use the [] and [] CURSOR buttons or the [+] and[–] buttons to select the output mode.• You can select from among the following two outputtypes.int : Keyboard’s built-in speakersout : MIDI OUTNOTE• Layer, split, and Auto Harmonize are automatically turnedoff in the SMF Player Mode.3 Press the [] CURSOR button to display the fileselection screen.• SMFs are those shows file names end with theextension “MID”. An error message appears at thistime if there are no SMF files currently in externalstorage media you are using.4 Use tthe number buttons to input the three-digitfile number of the file you want to play.• The name of the currently selected file will appear inthe text area of the display. The file number is shownin the number area of the display. The Tempo/Measure area of the display shows the size of the filein kilobytes.• You can also use the [] and [] CURSOR buttons or[+] and [–] buttons to change the file.5 Press the START/STOP button• This starts playback of the selected file.• You can use the TEMPO buttons to adjust the tempowithin the range of 30 to 255.• You can use the CHANNEL buttons to turn channels1 through 16 on and off, regardless of whether fileplayback is in progress or stopped. For moreinformation, see “Turning Channels On and Off” onpage E-40.6 To stop file playback, press the START/STOP buttonagain.Adjusting SMF Playback VolumeThe following procedure explains how to control the overallvolume of SMF data playback. You can adjust volume whileplayback is stopped or ongoing.1 Press the ACCOMP VOLUME button.• This causes the “SMF Vol.” indicator to appear on thedisplay, along with a value that indicates the currentSMF volume setting.2 Use the [+] and [–] buttons or the number buttonsto adjust the SMF volume.• You can specify a setting in the range of 000(minimum) to 127 (maximum).• Pressing [+] and [–] at the same time returns the SMFvolume setting to 100.• Note that this setting does not affect the volume ofthe notes you play on the keyboard.
