E-84Inserting and Removing aSmartMedia CardThe following describes how to insert a SmartMedia card intothe card slot and how to remove it.To insert a SmartMedia card into the card slotWith the contact side of the SmartMedia card facingdownwards, insert the card into the card slot. Carefully pushthe card into the slot as far as it will go.To remove a SmartMedia card from the slotAfter making sure that the data access lamp is not lit and themessage “Pls Wait” is not on the display, carefully pull thecard from the slot.** Never remove the SmartMedia card from the card slot orturn off the keyboard card while any of the followingconditions exists.• While the keyboard is in the SMF Player Mode and thereis a pointer next to CARD on the display• While the data access lamp is lit and the message “PlsWait” is on the display, indicating that a card accessoperation is being performedIMPORTANT!• Never remove the SmartMedia card from the card slotor turn off the keyboard while card data is being accessedby a save, read, or delete operation. Doing so can corruptthe data on the SmartMedia card or even damage thecard slot.Using the Floppy Disk Drive(WK-3700 Only)Floppy Disk Drive FeaturesThe WK-3700 comes with a built-in disk drive, whichprovides you with the capabilities described below.• You can save song memory and synthesizer data on a floppydiskette for long-term storage. When you need the dataagain, simply insert the diskette into the disk drive andload it.• You can play back SMF (standard MIDI file) data createdon a personal computer and saved to diskette.Floppy Diskette PrecautionsIMPORTANT!• Avoid the following locations when storing and usingdiskettes. Any of the conditions noted below can causedata stored on the diskette to become corrupted.• Near TVs, on top of audio equipment, or in any areaexposed to magnetism. Take special care to keepdiskettes away from any source of magnetism.• Areas exposed to direct sunlight, or subject to highhumidity or temperature extremes.• Failure to observe any of the following precautions cancause data stored on the diskette to become corrupted.• Never try to take a diskette apart.• Never open the shutter of the diskette or touch thefilm inside with your fingers.• Never bend a diskette or otherwise subject it to roughhandling.• Affix labels in the spaces provided only, and do notaffix labels on top of previous ones.• Do not eject the diskette from the drive while the accesslamp is lit or flashing or turn off keyboard power with adiskette in the drive. Doing either can cause data on thediskette to become corrupted and can even causemalfunction of the disk drive.• Never insert any foreign objects into the disk drive. Doingso can cause it to malfunction.• The disk drive uses a magnetic head. A dirty head cannotread data from a diskette properly and can corruptexisting data on the diskette. To avoid this, be sure touse a commercially available head cleaning diskette toperiodically clean the head.Saving Data738A-E-086A
