2-150 Service ManualNVRAM mismatch failure (950.00 through 950.29) service check1 Check the sensor (ADF 2nd scan) for proper installation. Is the above component properly installed?Go to step 2. Reinstall thesensor (ADF 2ndscan)2 Check the sensor (ADF 2nd scan) for proper operation.1. Enter the diagnostic mode2. Select Scanner tests3. Select Sensor tests4. Observe the line item “ADF 2nd scan”Does the display on the operator panel change every timethe sensing area of the above sensor is interrupted orblocked? The sensor isworking properly. Go to step 3.3 Check the above sensor for proper connection. Is the above sensor connected properly?Replace thesensor (ADF 2ndscan).Replace theconnection.Warning: When replacing any of the following components:• Scanner interface card assembly• System card assemblyOnly replace one component at a time. replace the required component and perform a POR before replacinga second component listed above. If this procedure is not followed, the printer will be rendered inoperable.Never replace two or more of the components listed above without a POR after installing each one or theprinter will be rendered inoperable.Warning: These components can be used as a method of troubleshooting as long as the machine is bootedinto diagnostic mode or is operating in diagnostic mode. Once a component has been installed in a machineand powered up into user mode, it cannot be used in another machine. It must be returned to themanufacturer.Step Check Yes No1 Check the operator panel assembly. Was the operator panel assembly recently replaced?Go to step 3. Go to step 2.2 Check the system card assembly. Was the system card assembly recently replaced?Go to step 4. Contact next levelof support.3 Replace the current operator panel assembly with theoriginal operator panel assembly.Does the error remain?Go to step 5. Problem solved.4 Replace the current system card assembly with the originalsystem card assembly. Go to step 6. Problem solved.5 If problem continues, replace the original operator panelassembly with a new and not previously installed operatorpanel assembly.Does the error continue?Contact the nextlevel of support. Problem solved.6 If the problem continues, replace the original panelassembly with a new ann not previously installed operatorpanel door assembly or the operator panel assembly.Contact the nextlevel of support. Problem solved.Go to “Sensorremoval” on(ADF 2nd scan)page 4-81.Go to “System card assembly removal” on page 4-50.Go to “USB cable removal (model X658)” on page 4-114.Go to “Operator panel assembly removal (model X658)”on page 4-109.
