On thenext start-up, thecomputer boots accordingto the devices specified insystem setup. This ishelpful when you need tochange the boot devicesquickly. For example, youcan cause the computer toboot from the CD drive torun the Dell Diagnostics,but the computer bootsfrom the hard drive whenthe diagnostic tests arecomplete.The Boot Device Menu appears.NOTE: If you wait toolong and the Windowslogo appears, continue towait until you see theWindows desktop. Thenshut down your computerand try again.O ption settings:• Normal — The computer attempts to boot from the sequence ofdevices specified in system setup.• Diskette Drive — The computer attempts to boot from the floppydrive. If the computer finds a floppy in the drive that is not bootable,an error message will appear. If no floppy is in the drive, an errormessage appears.• Hard Drive — The computer attempts to boot from the primary harddrive. If the computer does not find an operating system on the drive,an error message appears.• IDE CD Drive — The computer attempts to boot from the IDE CDdrive.
